Wehrpass, award documents and paperwork to Obergefreiter Hans Günther. He was born on the 23rd of January 1924 in Aue, Ziwckau.
Hans Günther started his active military career in October 1941 with the 1./Inf. Ers.Btl(mot.) 11 stationed at Leipzig.
He was trained with the K98, Pistole 08, Stielhandgranate and L.M.G. 34.
He was promoted to Obergrenadier on the first of December 1942, to Gefreiter on the first of June 1943 and finally to Obergefreiter on the first of May 1944.
After his training with the the 1./Inf. Ers. Btl. (mot.) 11 he saw action with the 7./ Infanterie Regiment 202, part of the 75. Infanterie-Division at the Eastern Front. The division saw action at Belgorod and Woronesh in 1942-1943. He was wounded on the 16th of July 1942 and was awarded the Wound Badge in black. He returned to his regiment which was renamed to Grenadier-Regiment 202.
At the Eastern Front he suffered from third-degree frostbites which led to amputation of both lower legs. He was awarded the EK 2 in June 1943 and the Wound Badge in Gold in March 1943.
Hans Günther was finally dismissed on the 9th of June 1944 as Obergefreiter d. Reserve
